on thier site, it says its 250 but its says its sale price is 200, i dont know if thats for a limited time or not. this is what it says on their page

Bombardier DS 650 HID Conversion Kit (single bulb)Our H4 series HID xenon single light kit will revolutionize your DS650 or Baja650 lighting!! Because this is a direct H4 replacement assembly, fitment is simpler than any HID conversion on the market. You simply install the HID bulb assembly into the factory housing, mount the ballast/starter box and tap into the existing factory lighting switch and you are good to go. You will achieve 165watts of equivalent lighting, yet draw only 37 watts of power during operation.

The single best improvement you can make to a duning or trail riding DS, period.

i bought the hid kit from hid store and it works well. its true hid not imitation like you get at the little rice rocket stores. comes with the ballasts and starter ballast for the kit. easy to install, took me about 10 minutes to put in. i didnt get a chance to check how they work in the dunes, but it lights up my street pretty nice. as soon as i replace my headlight (broke it in dumont on mlk weekend, why i havnt been able to know how well it works) ill post a pic to show the brightness.

A note to anyone who is looking or could get interested, there is a user on eBay selling a pair of Trail Tech lights with bulbs & mount etc for $149. They will even throw in a bar riser for an extra $10 with the sale. They have 10 of them available in a dutch auction, I'm considering buying one though the user has a 0 rating.

Also I emailed them and they are telling me that I can only install 20w bulbs without either disconnecting the stock headlight or doing work to the stator. However it's been said that the 290w output of the stator is all it can put out, which is plenty to add a couple of 35w or even 50w lights.

From all indications their information may not be perfect however if the product is what it is supposed to be that should be a really good deal.

I run 210w of light and have not had a problem. For all of you with the Baja lights, I highly recomend going with 55w xenon bulbs over the stock 35w bulbs. I also use a 55/100w xenon main bulbs. For under $20 it made a huge differnce in lighting.

Sandaholic,

You've got the 55/100w main and 55w auxiliary lights right? I think I'd like to do the same & it sounds like you found a good place to get the lights. I bought a 55/100w light for my 2001 DS but it cost a little more than it sounds like you paid. Did you get your lights somewhere local? If so I think I'd like to visit the same place.

I think I'm going to get some Trail Tech lights for my 2001 then later on maybe get some for my Baja - though I will have to get creative - or get more info on how much everything uses, I could see getting really close to or way over 290 easy. Imagine 100w on the main, 55/each on the aux. and 55 each on the trail techs, now that would be some light! Too bad it's 320 watts. Might have to run 35s on the TT & aux to do that.

I got my bulbs from JC Whitney, you can find them online. I also believe dennis kirk has them. The main bulb is an H4 55/100w xenon, and the baja lights are H3 55w. I would love to get true HID lights but can't justify the price when I compare it to the amount of light I am getting with my current setup.

BlackHawk, it definitely would be easy to over draw the system with lights. From my personal experience, I have always found that few high watt lights work better then a lot of low watt lights. The only down side to a lower # of lights is you can't direct them in multiple directions which might be useful in low speed technical situations. From what I understand a 100w flood with put out more light farther then a 55w spot.

If you go to my website and see my picture of the DS it looks like the lights are blue. That is just b/c the picture was taken at dusk and the flash reflected the color of the bulbs. During the day time you can see only the slightest hint of blue.
