heel guards with cut plastics?
#1
i was wandering if anyone has had any luck with maybe cuting there stock guards or having some made up with the rear plastics cut kinda like biggerisbetters and jeffinrivercity's plastics? i know they dont have any heelguards and was thinking about moding my stock ones so they will look decent. with the plastics cut, there is no support for the guards to the plastics and i dont wanna go as high with them. any suggestions? thanx

TimmyBoy makes fender supports for the DS, I think Alba has some too - a spring steel rod that bolts to the frame and extends over for the two mounting holes that the fender/heelguard bolt to. You could use the supports to attach whatever aftermarket heelguard you choose, without having the fenders bolted to them too. Don't know how it'd look, but worth exploring. Cut and paste in microsoft paint to get a visual.

Aerotech is developing there heel guards as we speek for the DS and they used mine and Majorecho's quads for the test units. Both of ours has cut fenders so we stressed to them the importance of a heel guard that is capable with the fenders cut. I saw these gurds and they are way sharp, in my opinion much better looking than the Diamond G guards and more realistically sized as well. You can get them through Rocky Mountain ATV I beleive.
