Ya know every time i see a Barnett clutch post I cringe....
I ran Barnett for one weekend and at the end of the weekend it started slipping real bad. It was killer in the beginning. But did not last. Also when I removed it for the oem clutch my oil was gritty. I could only assume from the fibers of the barnett friction plates. The OEM clutch is hard to beat with HD springs.

dsmike- makes you wonder huh?? The barnett springs i used in my raptor did 350 dollars damage. Trinity sold them to me. The package said they were for a wr400. So in barnetts defence they were used in a different application. barnett has made 1000's of clutches so they must be okay most of the time.

i've been running the stock disc w/pami springs and works good but when you really start to lean on it (4-5 hole shots) starts to go away!!! if i don't use the clutch for power shiftings is ok but will slip if i speed shift w/clutch. have not seen to much else for the ds out there with good response yet? so i'll run the stock disc til then

Here we go again, If we do not let these guys know about our problems and that we are wanting a better clutch setup, they are not going to help us out.

www.directdrivecnc.com

With this system, it will put more force on the clutch plates and will not let the clutch slip. We will be able to run the stock plates and springs with a lot better outcome.

Let them know that we want them to build it for the DS

i think the barnet clutch works great, but doesn't have much life to it. i didn't think it was slipping i just noticed that some fibers were gone.

i'm going to call them monday and see if they will make it up. i'll let you guys know what they say.

I've lost fibers on factory clutch plates too - started noticing fiber bits in my crankcase oil plug when I pulled it to drain - removed clutch cover and the outside fiber disk was missing 4 fiber links. Put it back together and ran 'til it started slipping, then put in new fibers from Bomb with heavier springs.
