Default 45mm carbs and 48mm

Have you guys seen the new 48 carb would it be too big for my engine 687 13to1 race head etc?

Are the carbs that you see on Ebay for the harley I.E. 45mm mikuni the same carb that you use on the ds or are there differances like thottle attachments etc.??

thanks

I just recently purchased one of those Harley 45`s off ebay....they are the same as the TM45`s everyone here runs except......you have to spend about $50-$75 to make it work for the DS..ex: choke cable, lightweight return spring, throttle cable, and plug off a few vent tubes. No big deal, RWR had everything to make it work, but probably should have just bought one there in the first place.

It looks like there the same carb in the pictures they have on there web site. the outside dia looks to be the same on all of the carbs in that style so a high flow intake for the 45 will work on a 48. My only worry is what kind of gain will I get at the top end and what kind of loss will I have on the low end?? What you guys are saying is there the same but you have to get some small parts to make them work on the ds well if the carb is half the price its worth it right??

I think what he is looking for is: is the 45`s and the 48`s on Ebay, the same 45`s and 48`s that you can get at Woods? If I interrpreted that wrong I am sorry....but, yes, with the exception of a few small parts.

yea forcefed I'm looking at one on the ebay thought I mit save some money! and get a carb twist throttle with pump for under 400-450
Are these only things that you need to make these carbs work could you be very specific on what parts you need. and also do I have to activate the pump on these? I mit just break down and buy the one with a twist throttle I just dont want to spend 600bucks on a carb!! I could buy a total cromed out edelbrock 950 double pumper for less than that hehe!

There are 3 "vent tubes" on the carb, RWR said to block off all except the one on the side, also recommended a lightweight linkage return spring. The choke plunger comes with the carb, but there is no way to pull it out (cable or handle)....and of course a throttle cable. The acc. pump came with mine and was ready to go after some (modification specific) adjustments....hope I helped.
