Please help with questions on my new TM carb..
1: My GOD was that throtal cable a pain in the but!! It was way to long, I finaly got it routed where the carb was able to shut its self off!. It kept reving when I let off the gas..
2: I bought the carb used and I belive it was setup for the CLAMP on filter. I need to run my airbox. The rubber neck from the box to the intake on the carb is really scrunched and the front of the carb to the manifold joint is really long. Its like my carb sits 1/2 an inch to far to the rear. Do I need to change my front of the carb so its closer to the head???
3: I got some really cool flames comming out the back [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img] When I hit the gas it damn near dies and some times does. I am not in gear yet.. Just crank the gas and let off or keep it on it does the same. Is this the hesitation everyone talks about? Its really bad, when I shift it dogs for a sec then goes. I have no internal engine mods YET. I just have the open airbox, pipe & twist.
4: I was able to get it to idle @ 1500 respectively and 2200 with the choake on. I did let it warm up but its really cold here like 12 out. So the air probably effects it.
5: I also pulled out my snorkle tubes and must readjusted my crank vent under the gas tank.
Its the TM42 carb...
