The article said better shocks were coming, as well as the aluminum swingarm and plastic headlight assembly. Both swingarm and headlight could be easily added to any year DS. Frame, motor and most of the rest of the DS will remain. A few key parts that could shed 40 lbs would be a worthwhile investment for any DS.

There have never been any major problems with any year of the DS650, not even the 2000 model. There have been a few minor problems that have all been corrected in the 2002 and newer Baja, and 2003 and newer DS650 standard.
they also run extremely well up hills, the engine puts out tons of torque so hills aren't really a problem.
I can tell you, that between a stock DS650, and just a couple of bolt-ons the power difference is amazing.

OK damn im so crossminded right now on my decision if C'dale goes under then i guess i'll go with the 2004 DS fi it truely is gonna be redone as much as they are sayin cuz it would be perfect for my riding style lots of air and those huge shock soke up alot of landing and the overall looks is nice the only problem i have with it is wieght do u know of n e thing that u have done to fix this problem n e one thanx
