Any Outlander owners on here? I am thinking of buying one but would like to get some feedback about performance of the bike compared to others of the same or bigger displacement? I've heard comparisons between this little Rotax and the Sportsman 500HO? How does it compare to a Foreman 450? I test drove one and like it alot -- just looking for some real world experience. How is it in the mud? Water? hills? Does the front diff lock work well? SO MANY QUESTIONS!!!

 

Hey Crawler.
I have an Outlander with 150 miles on it. Here is a quick summary of my riding impressions:
- Beats following bikes in drag race: 400 & 450 Kodiak, 400 Sportsman, Rancher ES. I'm sure it will out run others I just haven't had the chance to go head-to-head yet.
- TTI suspension is awesome. Handles better than any IRS machine I've ever ridden. Little to no body roll, smooth and predictable handling.
- Visco Loc is the best frnt. diff. I've ever seen. Very simple. Bike turns easily is 4wd put locks all 4 when you need it.
- I recently did a 50 mile trail ride in N. Arkansas with many deep water crossings. I got in water over the clutch cover with the muffler bubbling under water and never once had a problem with the clutch getting wetting wet.
- The sub transmission is a little noisy at upper rpm's but I've gotten use to it. Seems to be pretty std. characteristic with CVT trannys.
- Strongest brakes I've ever used on a sport ute.
- The 450 Foreman is going to be more utility oriented. Probably better compared to the Quest 500.

Buddy of mine just got a 500 HO sportsman and my outlander smoked it off the line time after time, but the longer we went the more he caught up.
