Terrible News: (Tragic but Long)
I know I do not post on here often, but this is a place I like to come to as a source of information. But the reason I am posting tonight is because there has been a tragic accident in my group of riders, and it involved another forum member also. For those of you who do not remember my first post, I was in seaqrch of an all black DS in south texas, well the forums came thru and itsfast stepped up to claim it. Well over the past few weeks me and Toby (itsfast) have become good friends. Although he was only 18 he was livin every teeneagers dream. He held a job, he played Varsity baseball for his high school team, but most of all he loved four wheelers and his ride. He would always help me when I needed it, and it did not even matter if he was in the middle of something on his bike, he would drop it and help me or others. Well Toby had an accident this weekend. He and some of his friends ( me included ) were out at a dirt track behind his house. Well there is a very long straight away and everyone was taking turns racing. Well Toby was up and was in the outside lane and this lane had been washed out due to local rain showers. But that did not stop him, he was wide open in 5th gear when he got to the bumps. What happened from there was like slow motion to me and the others. Toby hit a big lip and it kicked the rear end up, and as it did this toby was thrown over the bars. He slid into a tree, and the four wheeler rolled over right into him. We were all terrified as to what happened to him. But luckily he is still with us today. He is in the hospital right now undergoing some test, and has to do physical therapy 2 times a day when he regains some strength. He broke his right arm, and right leg during the fall, and when he tried to protect himself from the four wheeler he broke 3 fingers in his left hand. He also suffered a severe concussion from the four wheeler hitting him and his head hit the tree, but luckily he was a smart rider and never rode withouth a helmet, and the helmet took the beating for him (its all cracked up). Well please keep Toby, his family and friends, and most of all his girlfriend in your prayers.
She is taking this the hardest becasue she was who he was racing, but this is a great place of unity and there are alot of good people here, so I know god will be on his side.
Thanks and God bless.

Glad he's allive! Another good example of how important helmets are.
Thanks for sharing, its posts like this that helps keep us all in perspective with the things we think about the least. Helmets save lives, and every other piece of protective equipment too.
Wish Toby a speedy recovery for me.

Yeah, the way that started out, I thought he died too! What happened to him is terribly, but I'm glad he's alive. It could have easily been worse. Thank god for that helmet! Let that be a lesson to all you new riders out there that might read this thread! Anyway, Toby will be in my thoughts and prayers.
