Engine Build ??
#1
Well since I have my bike taken apart to replace the steering stem, I am going to do my engine mods at the same time.Tell me what you think of this setup.( RWR 11.5/1 CP piston, RWR 425 lift cams, Shim under bucket springs, Mild porting, RWR clutch springs ) plus the mods in my sig.

I think that will be a sweet set-up.
Get in touch with Pami or TVI for the heavy duty stud bolts. The stock ones can stretch resulting in head gasket failures. (about $70)
You may want to check in with Sand45 on the cams. I think he runs the Web cams and he does real good (can't wait to race him again now that my jetting is dialed in!!!)
You should be able to have it together in time for the March 14-16 Sand Mt. trip !!! Great place to check it out on that big hill.
You probably won't be able to start out in 2nd anymore (cams don't have as much low end power). As long as you are prepared for that I am sure you will be happy.

do you already have the big cams? if not the stage 2 with the sportman 9 cams have good bottom end. the cams come on very quick.
unless your a drag racer or just like to twist a motor tight the big cams won't be good for you.

I talked to Elliot at RWR and he said the sportsman-9 cams are the .425 lift. Thanks!! DSMIKE for your help.

duneme you can't start in second? i would have thought that with the 15-42 you would be having a hard time keeping the front down. mine with the 15-43 is hard to come out of the hole in second it almost comes over. i would like to meet up with you guys some time it hard to figure out if things are right or not until you see other people with the same quad.

I'm in the middle of the same that Bigbaja suggested right now. I didn't go with oversize valves due to cost, but it will happen eventually. Did get match porting of intake and head. Its as far as you can go without oversize valves, I'll save that for later, when I get bored again! Probably overbore too!
