Specs on the 2004 DS650
Just got off the phone with my buddy at Riverside Skidoo. They we down in Florida for the last 4 days attending the new Doo show. Bomb announced to the dealers that the 2004 DS will have a 2" shorter swing arm, aluminum A arms, it will be about 3" narrower and only 20lbs lighter. Bombs main focus is to bring the DS down in size to the other bikes in its class. The release to dealers is early to mid June. More news as I get it!!

Well that adda make these trails guys happy, you can finally get the DS power/reliabilty, and it will be narrower, and lighter
Its hard,,,, to me and my way of thinking, the new changes seem WRONG! but I have to remind myself that they are marketing for the Masses!
The bad thing is, that the new stuff will not appeal to me, if I have to sacrafice width, and length. Surely you can still get the BAJA, with the same wide stance, and longer swing arm
Biggerisbetter.

that really sucks that they are narrowing the wheel base that much!
this without lowering the center of gravity, this will be a tippy SOB. They better cut the price by a grand so we can afford to go get the aftermarket a-arms and axle just to bring it back to what it should be.
so much for "Follow No One!"

That is wack!!!! 2" shorter swingarm!! Are they insane!!??? And 2" narrower??!! Are they Insane again!!??? I am already almost flippin that rig on top of me now with the power to swingarm ratio as I like to call it. And making it narrower is just plain STOOOOOPID!!! Why don't they just hand us a Raptor with a DS Motor in it?! HMMMM! May be that wouldn't be soOO, What the hell am I out of my mind !!?? FORGET IT!!!! The aluminum A-Arms are cool though, it would be nice if they made them plus 2" so we could get more travel. I am thinking 15" in front and 14" in the rear. Now that would be QUAD you could be proud of!!

Whoooo hooo hooo what ingenuity!! Maybe they'll totally revamp it and put smaller tires on it knock the rev limiter down to 6000 RPMs. That would be the awesome!! God dude, I hope that it's just misinformation. After the DW article on the pre-production 04, I thought that they were headed in the right direction. Sheesh,,, 20lbs!! I can crap bigger than that!!
DEALER!! PUT ME ON THE WAITING LIST!!!
