Just wondering if anyone is running a NOS kit and what kind of gains they have? I ran across a NOS brand kit for a quad(complete w/ 10oz bottle, lines, pump, jets, and microswitch. He is asking $175 for it. Good deal? What compression can be run(safely) on a DS with NOS? I will be running a full MBRP race exhaust, TM45 carb/K&N carb mount, and RWI cdi. I was hoping to add a higher comp. piston in the near future, but don't wanna run race gas(except maybe with the NOS) all the time.

 

I have it on one of my DS's . It makes it leave like a rocket. A wheelie bar is a must. $175 for a complet kit? For that price if you don't want it I'll take it. I run the Ron Woods NOS piston. So far I have ran 30hp with no problem. The single carb plums easiest for the NOS. Just make sure you have it straite before you hit it.

You can ride, jump or anything. Its when you turn on the switch ,LOOK OUT.

I like the NOS brand,

But to each his own.

i have the woods 11.5 piston it isn't the nos one but elliotte told me lots of guys run that piston with nos. with no problems. i was thinking a mild hit 25hp or in there, is that reasonable or is it something that you always want more. and where would you draw the line 30 hp or does it go a lot higher. i'm not so worried about engine wear it isn't my daily driver and i can get it fixed.besides my wife will let me take her ds if i break mine[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img] right that would be me sitting on the trail queen(ds90)

 

I had one of the Woods regular forged pistons. The heat of any thing over 30hp will start turning the ring lands up. I have it post on another site. You can run 25hp with no problems, ,just don't get to lean.

Thanks for the replies guys. Can the NOS be run w/ the stk piston(9.7:1 comp) with out adverse affects? The kit was on a 400EX and only comes with the jets in the fogger, he does'nt know how much hp gain. Any ideas? I don't think i want it if i can't run it on the stk piston(until i upgrade).
