Can you run NO headlight
#1
My headlight busted and I do not ride at night so off it went.
However I remember something about a problem if you do not have it hooked up.
Has anybody heard of such a problem?
thanks
Ride hard and ride long ... keep the rubber side down

I have never herd of such a problem. Doesn't make sence to me that one would even exist. The only thing is to make sure that the plug is sealed up good. Tape it up and Silicone over the tape would do it. Mine was out for a couple days because while showing my nephew that a DS can run down and keep up with a YZ250 in a wash. I got a liitle to close and a YZ throws some good size rocks Anyway he got frusterated when he figured out that he couldn't shake me. And I was dissapointed when I found out that my headlight had a hole in it with a golf ball size rock in it. Lesson learned...either go around or stay back from a YZ.

I have ridden mine without the headlight in, it didn't seem to have any problems that way. Just tape up the end of the connector to keep dirt and water out.
I'm thinking I may try to come up with a way to mount two smaller headlights under the plastic in place of the big stock one. The stock unit is quite heavy, and it's just about impossible to keep those tabs from breaking. It also seems like a good idea to have more than one at work. I'd hate to be out somewhere after dark and have my light go out.

You can ride with no problems without the light. The issue that your thinking of was when you rectifier goes out you have to run with the headlight switch on. I just busted my headlight and ran it no problem. My wife headlight is busted to and no probs.
