What exactly does the switch do?

You can call RussellKarting and talk to Jim Jr. 816.332-3330. From what I have been told, he is the only distributer for the Quad CDI's. They have been doing my work on my motors and have been very good to me!! I will be happy to push there name anytime I can.

Thanks Dunedevil. I looked at the Vortex site and MT racing was listed as the only US distributor. I sent them an email last night. I'll give Russell Karting a call today...

Does anyone know if the shifter option(ignition cut-out) is available for the DS cdi(Vortex)? It was listed on the Vortex site as an option for some models, but did'nt list which ones.

Ok AZSAND and Quadloco 1, whats up with the [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-shocked.gif[/img] ? I did find out through MTracing that the shifter option(ign cutout) is available, but it has to be special ordered. The Vortex CDI is $350 p/s through them and its only $375 p/s with the shifter option. Though the cdi will cut ignition, it does not include the shifter switch(simple on-off switch that you attatch to you shifter. When you lift the shifter to inguage the next gear, it'll cut the ignition breifly allowing full throttle upshifts). The kill time is adjustable(by them). The kill time would only be optimum around a certain rpm so you would prolly only use it for dragracing. You could add a toggle switch to arm/disarm the foot switch so you could ride and shift normally and flip the swith when your ready to race...

Its listed on Vortex's site. MT racing said they would have to special order it from the factory. I would think any of Vortex's dealers could get it. Keep in mind, the CDI is ordered with the shifter option. Its not a add-on.
