RS,
I picked up my winch and mount with my quad yesterday. I am putting it on myself. The winch I have is a Warn 2.5ci, seems well built. I kind of liked the looks of the wireless Ramsey winches, but they seemed more expensive. The Bombardier part number for the winch is 64890. The Bombardier part number for the mount is 703500295. Note about these parts, you only get a hawse mount, no roller failead. So I will have to pick one up. The new 2.5ci has a much nicer and smaller handlebar switch than the older ones I have seen. Good luck.

Thanks for the response. Is the Bombardier Warn 2.5ci winch have different wiring or button than the stock Warn 2.5ci? What does Bombardier charge for their version of the Warn winch? I've seen prices of around $290 online for the 2.5ci. Will a standard roller fairlead work?

It looks to me to be the standard 2.5ci, no changes, same button. If you look in your owners manual, you will see a section where they show how to opereate the winch on the XT model. Notice the mount they used. I will try to make a bracket like that or see if I can order that one on the XT. The kit does not have a bracket like that. The one in the kit mounts to the tube of the handlebar. It came in a Bombardier Box with the Warn logo on it. The winch itself does not say Bombardier anywhere on it. Not sure exactly what my real price for the winch was, it was $229 more than what they were asking for it without it. But there was a trade and some bargaining involved. Sounded like it was cheaper than buying it later, and they had both the winch and mount in stock. The standard hawse failead will work, I just think that for $25-$30 the roller fairlead is probably worth it for situations were you need to pull at slight angles. I hope to get it installed in the next couple days.
