I got my DB meter and checked my exhaust, can you help?
I have the FMF power core 4. I run the free flowing end and it checked in at 102db @ 3250 rpms ( thats what the check at)
So I put on the slient end end cap and that thing rang in at 98/99 DB @ 3250 rpms.
I tried putting the airbox back on but it did not make any differance.
I was looking at my packing and its a bit black and the bottom part it gone for about 3-4 inches. Its brittle/stiff on the end.
Does this mean I have to repack it??
I know its only 8 bucks from FMF for the packing but how hard is it and how long does it take???
I am going riding Saturday that has a 99db limit so I want to do it fast. I really dont want to run the quiet core as it will mess up my jetting right??? or will it be fine??

Just put in the Quite core and try riding it, if it runs reasonable then go with it, it will be running richer than it should which wont cause any overheating problems, if it runs good it will be close enough for a tempary setup.

just to let ya guys know if ya have problem with noise police. hears what ya do when you go into a sound check. take out the spark arester and put some stain steel wool put the spark arrester back in quiet as a mouse!!! as soon as you get into the area where your going to ride take the spark arrester out and rev it up pop out comes the steel wool. if you see the cops around stay of the gas!!

If you want too knock off more DB get a 2 inch two disk CC Inserts It fits inside the pipe where the tail pipe and header meet.

all pipes need repacked regularly - how often you ride will determine packing life, some get a year, some two, other even less. my yoshi has about 70 hours on it, almost time. I keep getting packing collected around the sparky screen, gotta clean it every other ride if I have it installed.
MBRP is not repackable it seems, that's completely crazy - what in the world were they thinking????????
