Default Need more of an edge

I weigh 320 pounds, and I am 6'5

Me

I ride with my Father in law who is 180 pounds...
He rides on my stock Baja.. The Baja I ride on has a Yosh slip on , a jet kit, and the air box lid removed.
We drag raced like 20 times today. Every time we were straight racing it was tied.
What should I buy to make sure I dont lose anymore races? I need to compensate better for my 140 pound weight difference
Dont say some diet pills either

Thanks on the C5
Nitros runs out though, I need something constant.
would a pipe and lower gearing do it? On the track I ride at, I never even get half way through 4th gear...

Drop a tooth or so on the front sprocket if you are just doing short drags. You will lose 3-5 mph on top though. A Full system would probably help out with performance as opposed to just a slip on. Tires may be something to look at, find some that are light weight and hook up well. ITP has a new holeshot called the mxr. Its lighter by a lot than the other itps. Razors are heavy buggers, but they are good too.

Im not sure how deep you want to get into the engine. A 703 pami or the like would definately get you ahead of the game, but thats a lot of time and money. A new CDI could boost your useable powerband too. New carb, High compression piston, port/polish, etc etc. The question is "how fast do you want to spend???"

The CDI is a good bet, especially in drags. A Tooth down on your front sprocket, and start in 2nd gear, as long as the drags are short, might make the difference. Have you tried raising the needle? There is a lot of midrange power there for the taking with your Yosh slip-on, especially if you try enriching the mid-range.

It is better to change the rear sprocket size. the bigger front sprocket you use the less power you use.

best money i spent (befor going over board that is) was the ron wood stage I kit. 45mm carb, cdi box, pipe, this will wake up the dead and make it feel like a whole different machine!! p.s. you'r a big dude i'll try not to make you mad by giving the wrong advise

According to what I heard, a Ron Woods CDI is only going to improve a stock engine RPM up to 8500 , thats only 500 over the stock Baja cdi? It would probably be a sorry 500 RPM's (Power band drop off)
The Ron Woods pipe does have that fat Rotax 2 stroke look to it, I can see how it would probably make more hp then my Yosh slip on with a MBNA header. However since I allready bought the Yosh, I guess I will try a new gearing and a MBNA header. If I do not get the results I am looking for, I will probably order a Ron Woods Stage 1 kit and swap my exhaust over to my stock Baja. It seems to me the Stage 1 would be better off with a higher range cam and springs though, to utilize the CDI?
So I was sayin, the track I ride on has only 1 straight section and I was barely getting into 4th gear with the stock gearing. It was kind of doggin out in lower 4th cause its going up a hill. When I drag race it is only for short distances. Would I want to gear it down to say a 16/36 and keep it in 3rd gear around 7500+ rpm at top speed for the straights on the track or gear it up to say a 15/42 or a 15/43 and aim for upper 4th gear RPMs or lower 5th gear for the straight?
I am running 20" Razors...
Guy was saying that I should not go with a smaller front sprocket? Will I need a chain for this regearing??
Thanks for the info, I would be F'n clueless with out yall and this kickass forum!
