Default clutch question??

i haven't seen it but the steel plates do have a cut to them by that i mean they look like they have been sanded already. but i have heard the sand paper thing also iguess if they slip much they can glaze, i took this to mean the friction plates after looking at mine this maybe what i had.

Default clutch question??

What you're talking about is putting a little bite on the primary clutch sheaves. Do you have an automatic? If so, that's what your guy was telling you about. It's used frequently for short run snowmobile racing, they use a fine emery. High hp vehicles will tend to slip the belt easier and this helps grab it better. The effect will soon wear away, though, and won't give you any long term advantage, imo.

Default clutch question??

Either way, Now that I look closer, we're probably talking about different things. YOu have a DS, correct? And it has a manual gear shift? If so, then, disregard my post.

Default clutch question??

I have been told bead blast the steels. But Sanding sounds like the easier ticket. Why would sanding the springs do anything?
