Ranked it last out of 7 quads, Said little guys hate it and its slow on the sand. They picked the z400 and the kawi 400 as first place.
The test riders are all like 130 pounds!!

all the mags are full of crap, i don't evem buy mags anymore.....

 

you need to read them so when people come up and talk to you about the ds, you will get a laugh out the parrot effect. i did have a interesting thing happen a few weeks ago, i pull back into camp and this guy comes over and says ( you know you are the reason i bought one of these) and i say what? he said he had read all the mags and was thinking of a raptor, well he had been around riding something can't remember and he had seen how the ds had held it own against the other quads. he said it made his mind up. i guess the big smile and the shine red ds meant he was happy with his purchase. i think he was really excited he wanted a class on gearing and any little tricks, i saved a lot of my time and told him to come to this forum.

I really feel sorry for the people that are just getting into the sport and don't read into what is being said in the mags. Just like cars, there are some sport cars that are good at some things and others that are good at other things (drags vs. twisty roads vs. a cruise through the wine country, etc.) The Z/KFX are good on the track and tight trails but, get them on a steep dune and there is no competition. Some hills you will be lucky to climb - especially if you weigh 190lbs.

ALl the 130 lb. riders I know that ride the DS, LOVE IT!! but thier from Texas, and thier all CRAZY SOM bitches!!LOL.

my wife goes 135, but we wont mention the crazy part, she loves the ds and the seat and suspension.

 

I think that mags only favor the bigger quad company's I ride a ds and i eat kfx's and z-400 all day long at winchester bay. what a load of crap

Several guys in our riding club has bought ds because the see how well it runs against other quads. These guys are big guys and was riding utility bike because of the comfort. I'm 6'5'' and weight 270lbs and I out run predators with small riders all day long. The ds has a small niche and it takes some real ***** to go out and buy a quad the infamous dirts wheels constatly bashes. I simply let them ride my quad and then I race the bike of their choice and smoke the hell out them. Next week we goi buy them a ds. Oh yeah I woods race. The mags say its not good in the woods. I beg to differ.

 

Im wondering the amount of money that the magazines top picks pay them in advertising???
