checked out the vortex cdi

i was over at one of the online story's that now carrys the vortex cdi it is 329 that isn't that much more than the woods, you guys that have it think it is worth the extra $66 or stay with the woods?

The CDI's can be programmed for your setup, and what you want to do. Plus you have a switch on the handle bars and you can switch between curves
One scenereo is: you have a favorite curve. You have them program that curve in to ten slots with differrent rev limmiters. Now you can switch to the best rev limit to give you the holeshot and then on down the track switch to the second curve to move your limit up in to the power band. This way you get an awsome holeshot everytime.
Or you can have different curves for different fuels. 1 for fuel, with another for NOS.
It all depends on what you want.

The Vortex is awesome. It will do anything you are smart enough to tell it to do. The only problem I can see with it , you have to know what you what and were you want the timing curve.

Is it harmful to the engine to keep switching the curve. Especially while racing.

That was my question CW DUDE BUT I HAVE TALKED TO SEVERAL CART RACERS WHO HAV BEEN RUNNING THEM AND THEY SAY THEY HAVE HAD NO PROBLEMS DUE TO THAT[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]

isn't it the part that would go bad by the switch? and seems they would warranty it. i could just see it now azsand, with a bad cdi and haveing to run a stock cdi on his monster[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img] oh that's right you have three spares. i don't think i could stand to ride mine withthe stock cdi.
