Default Blown Fan Fuses

I have an 01 DS. Very recently replaced the stock fan with a direct replacement fan from Offroadwarehouse.com I check the new fan before I put it on and it worked fine. I noticed that it did not come on today and checked my fuse and it was blown. I thought the new fan had rolled snake eyes but I unplugged it from the wiring harness and hooked it up to a battery and it runs fine. I let it run for about 5 minutes. I hooked it back up to the wiring harness and let it idle until it got hot enough to kick the fan on and as soon as it did, the fan would start to turn and the fuse would blow. I really don't think it is the fan, I think it is another problem. Any ideas?

I tried a 25 amp fuse instead of the 15 and it blew it the same way as before.

try replacing your fuse holder never jump your fuse sizes the elec system is trying to tell you you have a problem so lets find it!!! it sounds like you may have a bad connection in your fuse holder

I have relaced all my factory fuse holders with auomatic circte breakers the ds has a funky fuse holder design it it built on a soild principle but they forgot to take amp heating into account when the designed it i would blow mains all te time but the breakers are working fine i don't have fans good luck let me know how it gose's

PS: You can get auto breakers at all quality auto part stores make sure and get ones with mounting tabs.

You should also elimnate ( rule out) the water temp solenoid as causeing the short. I do this by unpuging the two wires that connect to it and plug them into a toggle switch. Turn the key on. And then turn the toggle switch to the on. The fan should come on. If it stays on without blowing the fuse. The Solenoid is the culprit.
