I am going to try racing short track on hard pack and I was wondering what would be the best tire, size, and gearing? Right now I have 15/40 with 22x11x9 ITP XCT 1st gear seems to low and 2nd gear is a bit to high for starting out. I was thinking about going back to 20x11x9 also thinking about changing to a 15/42 gearing. Also I am getting the TM 45 soon so will that help starting out in 2nd gear?
Any suggestions would be great!

 

my opinion is 15/40 gearing 20" tires - my 2nd gear holeshots have never been better with this gearing/tire on hardpack - wind up to 5K, dump the clutch, unleash holy fury, just be careful and practice cause you could wear it pretty easy - sack goes on the tank for this method
