DS won't start
#1
Guys,
Here is my situation.....
Last fall I went to the Dunes. When I first started my DS it was OK when I went to accelerate on the sand it had a miss. It wasn't like a rythmic miss. But it popped back out the carb even. Just when I was ready to head back to the truck after a couple of minutes it stopped & ran great the rest of the whole day.
Later in the fall. Same thing. Runs kinda bad at first but comes out of it. Last winter it would start but I couldn't even rev it up without it missing. I've been busy & really neglected it & not addressed the problem. Now it won't fire & just soaks the plugs. (I put new gas in it also).
The lights are bright & it cranks for awhile but could it still be the battery? For some reason that possibility sticks out.
What else should I check? Why do I feel so dumb?

Quick list...
check main fuse...wouldn't be your accessory fuse if the light are workin
check ground connection to frame and condition of ground wire
check connections at coils
check connection to CDI
check plug wires/boots for cracks and damage
check battery...put it on a 1.5-2amp per hour charger and then get it load tested
check valve clearance
check stator output
check rectifier

Thats OK though....That just means stage 3 is right around the corner
