Default should I?

Im in the market for a new quad. I was set on a predator then i started hearing all the horror stories about them being not very reliable, dragging brakes blowing forth gear etc. My freind has a 03 Baha at first i said what a tank, but the more i ride it the more I like it. It doesnt feel big or heavy at all when ridding it. I been doing research on them and they seem real reliable. So I was wondering when the 04's are coming out? I heard there going to have some improvements like 20lbs lighter 1/2" shorter and 1 1/2 narrower which i would be interested in. I would get the regular model dont want all that added weight. If I got one I would strip everything that wasnt nessasary to make it lighter and change stuff over like pipes and bars.
BTW Im 180 5'7" and do all kinds of riding mx to trails. Former quads I had
a 88 banshee when they first came out.... (back when they were cool) um a 98 warrior,90LT250 and a bunch of dirt bikes. So should I go polaris or go bomb theres nothing else out right now thats even worthy.

I love my 01 ds. I am 16 5'10" 180 pounds. Went to a sand pit today and smoke every quad but a piped and ported banshee. But I was the only one jumping and getting air and doing tricks. There is also a big hill climb and I did not ever have to try to make it up, just cracked the throttle and I was up.
The new ds-X looks bad ***!!! I wish I could sell mine and buy that.
The bomb also has some of the best dealers out there, they almost always hook you up with a good price and they have a great warranty.

I have a 03 baja and think it handles great, and the weight doesnt bother me,except that i am sore as hell after a day of mx riding, but thats probably with all of them,i am used to dirt bikes. They DS would have to be extinct before i would consider anything else and if i had to it would be the predator.but man is my quad stable and comfortable.

I bought 1 today I had the same ideas you do, I kept an eye on all the forums and the bomb is.. well um... the BOMB! sorry. I live an hour from the oregon dunes so the shorter 04 was not an issue, the length is a good thing. Can't wait to start roostin! Good luck on your decision.

I bought a 2001 DS, then two years later it was time for another ATV so we ended up buying a 2003 Baja, I guess you could say I like the DS650 pretty darn well.

oh and brad what did you mean by polished intake? Did you polish the intake runners with a dremel? Did it make a difference? How do you like your alba do you have the supertrap syle? I was looking at the stage 3 kit with the disks.
