have you consider the REALATORS, they have a paddle type tread, but are a mud design, i think they make the taller sizes, thats what i would go with, would be worlds tougher than the sand paddles

Yeah, I've heard that paddles don't quite live up to expectations in the snow, unless you have LOTS of it. Most of the time when it snows around home, it's *just* enough that you are still riding on the dirt most of the time, but you can't hardly get traction because it's so slick. Times like this I wouldn't want a paddle type tire, but definitely something aggressive enough to get down and bite. Which of the tires you guys recommended fit this bill?

Oh yeah and what is the stock wheel/tire size on the DS?

Default Tough paddle?

jetjock i have realtors now, but they came with the bike and are worn down some, they do alrite in the snow but spin all the time, the reason i want paddles is that the guy who originally had the ski kit before me has paddles on the back and could pull wheelies in the snow, n theres no way i could do that now, and i will not buy the 4 snows, they are way too soft, and i heard they expand when they spin fast

also I would stick with a v tread, when your on the side of hills your rear will slide down hill witch is what my paddle masters do and it's a pain in wooded areas.

Yes the good thing about the 4-snows is that you can run them 2 different ways. Forward for less traction or backwards for extra traction. Air pressure also makes a big difference in traction because they are so soft. I use them at the dirt drags here in texas.

There is another option from skat-trak. I call them about a set of 22" hawks. It can be set up as a normal 22" extreme hauler (with kevlar if desired), but then they also put a thin row of knobbies down the center to protect the paddles when you do come across hard surfaces.

I have never seen them used, but I have heard of guys who swear by them. These guys ride in small dune areas that don't have sandy access trails.

Skat-Trak tires
