i've never had one come loose, they all have locknuts on my bike.
which ones - the fronts are 6mm, the rears are 8mm seems like.

You know those little spacers that go under the rear mounts? You can make some out of aluminum, just buy round stock, cut to length, drill and tap all the way through. Then use a short bolt w/ loctite to fasten it to the frame from bottom side, and then use another short bolt to fasten tank to it on top side. This way, you never have to mess with the nut on the bottom again - just unscrew the top bolt for removal and the threaded spacer stays because the bottom bolt used to fasten it is loctited.

I got tired of dropping those damn spacers, so I used a self-locking nut , and ran it up to the plastic, and tightened it just tight enough that I could still twist my tank screw. it spaces it out just right and makes it alot easier when takig off the nose piece in the SAND!

I used silicone on them and seemed to be holding.
