Default I'm disturbed...

Not saying anyone's noticed, but I've been laying low lately...kinda burnt out I guess. Not completely...but am a little disheartened by it all.

I'm experiencing some problems with my bike and have been thinking that you guys that stay basically stock are my heros! I recently had stage III work done...$$$$! Not to completely discount the decision to go there as I've definately got some potential here...but, my quad, ever since, has been blowing blue smoke as if the rings aren't seating or I've got a problem with a valve seat or something (and no time to nail this @$#! down right now). Also, my coolant reservior is filling up as tho I've got a head gasket problem. Also the TM45 I bought used in good faith (and was sold that way I'm assuming) has definate problems...I've installed the carb kit (new O-rings and gaskets and needle valve and seat) and it still acts like it's loading up or sucking air somehow...I ran Angry's/Punisher's carb with all setting exactly the same and it was a 100% change--its definately the carb. Also I'm not having any luck with MBRP. Now before you all get freaked out over that last part let me just say that I think it's a great pipe for duning and playing, but there are some issues (comparing to my E-series w/out any disks and open end cap) when it comes time to flow at WOT...BTW I have the full bore slip-on...a replacement for the one that cavitated or ???? at FSWII and basically cost me the big trophy in the stock bolt on class!!!

I'm not giving up on getting the DS dialed in...but my job is the commander of this vessel and this next journey the DS is staying home...

Guess my point here is that I would love to be able to spend my evenings working on the Bus and getting it all fingered outBUT I'm out of luck and time for now...and I'm just a little annoyed...

Seal on my countershaft went out to boot...
Mis-shifted way too many times last weekend!!!
Watched my daughter endo big time last weekend...sprained wrist...she's a trooper!

Session's over............till September or October.......

Jim

Hate to hear you have had problems. I gave up the modifications in the eighties and I have to many machines and its hard enough keeping them running in stock form.

I agree. There are times it doesn't seem worth it. That's why my DS & truck are mostly stock. I don't have the time or money to spend on mods like I did 10 years ago.

i started modding my ds last winter and have to say i've got to ride everytime i went out but i have lost the water pump seal once and some issues with clutch and some carb problems, maybe most people wouldn't notice but i could tell all things weren't right, but last ride i could tell things were coming together. seems it always takes a while to work out all the bugs, so hang in there it does get better, and those carbs are a little difficult to get right. well hang in there and thing do get better.

jim when you bought the carb from me you picked up 20HP on the dyno from night to night. and rode it from wash 11 to gecko road to race and had no problems.

what the carb does now 3 months later isn't on me

Thats why I have more stuff to look good than go fast. I also shelled out the 700 bucks for the 4 yr warranty. I blew a jet ski motor and the warranty saved me well over 2k in repairs. I didnt take on 5 years worth of payments to not be able to ride it whenever I want to. Dont give up Jim, just think of all the times I was breathing your blue smoke last time at Dumont. lol.
