Kazuma 50cc oil change
I am posting this for everyone's information who purchases this four wheeler.
I received my boys kazuma 50cc yesterday, 03/31/05, and upon reading the owners manual is says to change the shipping oil in the engine prior to use. So i followed the directions in the owners manual which shows you a drain plug to unscrew, 14mm, and release the oil from the engine. "This is not the correct drain plug". It is nearly impossible to access this drain plug with a wrench due to it being blocked by the frame. A socket will not work so I ended up grinding down the closed end of an open end wrench to pass between the frame and the head of the plug. I was able to remove this plug which also has a spring and cylinder that drops down out of the hole. the cylinder will not come out of the motor to release the oil due to it being blocked by the frame. I had noticed what appeared to be another drain plug with a larger head, 17mm, a couple of inches over from the one shown in the owners manual. This one was also difficult to access with a socket, due to the frame, however was alot easier than the 14mm. After removing it with an open end wrench I was able to drain the oil. Be aware these bolt heads are easily stripped with your open end wrench.
NOTE: the owners manual mentions nothing about the 17mm drain plug so i am passing this on for everyones information so they dont have the same problem as me.
I also wish to ad that other than this small problem the four wheeler is running great at this point and my boy loves it, thanks RACEWAY ATV for the best price I found. The free shipping is unbeatable.
