Default kazuma FX 150 MKII buyer beware

I just wanted to post this to let anybody considering purchasing the Kazuma FX/RFX 150 MKII that the dealers have been mis-informed per Kazuma tech support. I have been battling with my 2 not doing the advertised 35-45mph and have been round and round with dealers and many have been very helpful such as John at Raceway. But, after dealing with Kazuma direct they say there is a misprint in the manual and that they will never go that fast. Below is the portion of the email from Sunny at Kazuma usa. It is not edited to make me look good or anything like that. I will gladly email the entire email to anyone questioning this and let you take a look at how rude the manufacturer is and how little they are willing to help.

I just wanted to prevent someone from an unhappy purchase and possibly save a dealers neck if they are watching. I feel that I kind of got screwed by the company themselves and I dont want to see it happen to anyone else. And apparently Kazuma does not understand how expensive it is to return 2 atv's to the seller which would be completely out of my pocket.

Hope this will help someone and save some hassles.

Good luck
Mike

Thats too bad that the 150's are turning out this way. I know you are not the only one that has complained about them. My son has a 110cc Kazuma and it has been great so far. The top speed for this one is actually 35-36mph from GPS but then again it is semi auto. I do hear the Yamoto 150's will do around 40. Are you at least happy with the Meercat?

Stock the '04 Yamoto 150 will go 32 mph. There has been a few people here who have come up with the same #'s. My wifes has been modified a little and will now go 35 mph. i am sure it could be made to go faster, but the stock suspension would be way beyond its limits. Fine for a very smooth road, but that is about it. IMO.

The meerkat has been awesome. My 2yo loves it and wakes up everyday and wants to ride it. It was by far the best purchase. But I give my word I will never buy from kazuma again. If you read the entire email you will understand why. I am going to post it in its entireity when I am done going back and forth with this Sunny guy. He is a complete d@#k. Absolutely no customer service and is not wanting to take care of anything. I am going to seek legal representation against this company for false advertising. It could have been different but this guy is such an A$$hole. I have never dealt with a company that is this hard to deal with. I found a local Redcat dealer though and she is almost as cool as John and is willing to work with me on a trade. She says the kmx 150's will go 40 all day long and she might do an even swap just because she is very familiar with what is going on. I am glad that you have been having good luck with the 110's . If Kazuma would even offer a little bit of assistance to help, maybe even send me a 110 motor and tranny or something I would be completely satisfied but they want to fight me the whole way until I give up and write it off as a loss but they are screwing with the wrong white guy. From now on I stick with dealers where I can go and actually ride the bike first. Lesson Learned. (no offense John).

One angry white guy,
Mike

I agree about the unit not doing 45mph. But I have had them up to 40mph. I really think you just got a bad bike. I have sold a lot of the 150's and never have I heard the unit going as slow as yours. But like I said before the real bad thing is the guy you got the bike from!!!!!! and no offense taken the forums are here to say what you feel!!! That's what keeps them interesting!!!! Again if you need anything let me know!

I was able to ride the KMX 150 at a local redcat dealer today because she is trying to sell mine (rfx) for me. I could definitely tell that it was faster but I think only because it has 22 inch tires on the rear where the FX 150 only has 19. I could see this one going 35-40 with the 23 tooth back sprocket. I actually liked it alot better though it seems taller. I think if you took the racks off it would look pretty sporty too. I am going to see if she will work a deal with me on trade and I might keep the KMX. Just what I need, 5 atv's in the garage. I am going to try the 110's tomorrow. It is a completely different motor. Looks like an old Honda 70/90. The 150 motor comes in the scout vehicles (slow moving golf cart looking things). Drive trains are on opposite sides but other than that they are virtually identical.

Well, not sure what the issue is with your FX-150 mk II but this weekend we took our kids and their FK-150's down to Oklahoma City and we ran them well over 10 hours. They were buzzing! After some minor adjustment/lubing on the steering (they were very tight) we rode them all over the place, let me tell you, they are fast for 150's, we clocked them at around 38 mph with one of them slightly peppier due to me removing the added filter material in the air box. Fast on the take off and a slight gradual climb over the last few MPH on the flat.

The Suzuki LT160's we were running were just slightly faster in the long haul but the mk II's beat them off the line.

We love these bikes and I'm sorry you got a lemon Turbomike but these truely are great bikes!

I am glad that yours go that fast. How did you clock them? I used my gps and my car. And both said 24 and 27 down hill with it ready to explode. I also had to lube the crap out of the steering and bent the stops over just a little bit to get a tighter radius. But I rode the 110's at the dealer I found and they are faster than the 150's. She is working a trade deal for me on KMX 150's. She will give me the full purchase amount towards them if the guy I purchased them from never activated the 6 mos warranty. The FX is DEFINTELY a kids atv though. The suspension would shake your teeth out if they did actually go 45. I bought a honda showa shock for the rear that I was going to put on it but was happier getting rid of it. If anybody needs a good deal on a shock let me know.

We clocked them with a GPS on a flat field. As for the shocks, we like them a little stiff when trail riding as it helps us "to be one with the trail"

I've even jumped them and they seem fine on landing. Maybe I'm just not used to one of those luxury rides out there, my only experience is on Suzuki LT160's and a scary stint on a Predator 500.
