Default what engine is in 200cc yamoto/kazuma

there are lots of these types of quads for sale all generic but rebadged by different companies and i know that most of them use the same 200cc four stroke manual engine

what i need to know is what is the engine designed on ?
is it the honda xr 200 engine as i have lost 2nd gear on a quad less then 6 months old
i havent stripped the engine yet but i fear the worst

the only problem been is that i live in the uk and there are very few spares for these quads in the uk let alone transmission spares

but if i can get a spare from a honda xr lump i could be lucky if not im going to have to have parts shipped from the US

any help would be great as the people in the uk are as much use as a chocolate fire guard

cheers

I contacted kazumausa.com about my falcon 250 and they told me this: "the unit that you have is a honda copy cb250 from the late 70's 1974-1978". I dont know if this is any help or not, but you might be able to contact them and ask them the same question about your 200.

well stripped the motor down and some muppet has tried to engage reverse gear while the quad was still going forward

the reverse soleniod is damaged 2nd gear is badly worn and the selector fork is completely buggered

oh well im doomed

never mind i will find the spares if it kills me

I've got the vx-200 its a 193cc motor .I think I read somewhere it's close to a suzuki 193cc . That is the problem with these quads finding parts is going to be a real challange.

sorted mine i found that the honda cg125 engine is internally correct (even though the gears are all the opposite way round but fit the correct selectors)

its is just a cg125 that is bored out to a 200 cc

sorted mine anyways runs sweet now

They use the same motors as the Yamoto GY 200 dirt bike. I can get you parts for them if you need.

thats ok but i think you would find a problem as the bike has 1 down and the rest up (gears)

the quad has all gears down and also has reverse which the bike doesnt have

The Redcat and Yamoto 200 ATV's have 1 down and the rest up and so does the GY 200 dirt bike. The reverse on the ATV's is not a reverse system in the transmission, how they work is there is reverse gears in the rear end. So when you pull up that arm on the right side of the ATV it just switches the gears in the rear to go into a reverse position. The reverse on the ATV has nothing to do with the motor or the transmission. Believe me I have been around these ATV's for a long time. 100% the motor in the GY 200 dirt bike is the same motor in your 200

mm must be a difference in the uk version then
as the reverse gear is not seperate and is in place of what would be 1st gear
the quad has reverse plus 4 gears down

1-4 have been moved to were 2-5 would be
and reverse is worked off the selector drum like a normal bike with a reverse inhibitor switch added to the selector drum

therefore ensuring that the quad be put into neutral before reverse is possible engaged

the only trouble with this setup is the inhibitor switch is pretty fragile and some one going down the box pretty quickly can go through neautral and into reverse while the engine is still in forward motion ripping teeth from the drive gears
