Redcat VX150 vs. VX200
#1
Trying to figure out which one to get. TheRedcat VX150 or VX200. What are the advantages and disadvantages of an automatic vs. manuel? If something goes wrong is one easier to fix/cheaper? Which would be more fun to ride in general? Also, I see there is a backup kick start on the 150 is this true of the 200. I don't think so.

The v series from raceway are vx series redcats v-200 = vx-200. I own a vx-200 and so far am very pleased with the quality look and fell of the quad. As to its longevity we will see. Also look at the vx series rear shock mount. You will notice on most of the import quads the rear shock is straight (almost straight) up and down. The redcat vx and the boreem (www.boreem.com 150 and 200) do not, they have the shock at a much lower angle in front of the battery box. You get a much more active suspension like that.Seems to work great on my vx-200.

2manytoys,
I don't mean to be rude, but please do some research on quads that you do not own. The information you are giving is wrong.
The V or VX 200 is water cooled.
The V or VX 150 does have a back up kick starter not a neutral or forward lever like you explained in another post.
Remember you are trying to give correct information to people who ask questions and if your guessing you are probably wrong.
Take a look:
200 cc V or VX Redcat
150cc V or VX Redcat

I don't know if one is cheaper than the other to fix but depending on the type of riding and skill of the rider - the fully automatics are easier to ride - hit the throttle and go - and are easier to manage twisting and turning thru tight trails. The standard or manual transmissions in my opinion are quicker and make the motor more responsive to different terrain and aggressive riders. In my opinion the redcat vx models are better built than the original redcats that were being produced. Just remember, unless you have a Redcat dealer down the street, when that crate arrives at your house you are the dealer. If you can spin a few wrenches and have some decent mechanical skills these are great atv's for the money. Best of luck.

I meant to say like I did in my other post that the 200 is water cooled but you are right the 150 does come with a kick start not the 200.

2manytoys,
It's good to see that you went back and corrected your original posting.
All the information that you have given in each of the postings tends to be good and people are looking up to you for the correct information.
Keep up the good work.

I'v got the vx-200 and the dpx-200 both are fun quads - pretty good value for the money. The dpx over all is bigger and much more stable than the vx. I really like this bike better but it is quite a bit slower than the vx . I put 2"spacers on the vx , stock 36" rear width is just not enough .Also the vx turning radius is not very good due to stops they welded to the front, I plan on removing them.
