got new kazuma 50 with 90cc
Some thoughts from a new member on the 90cc from raceway atv. I was told the 50cc may not arrive in time for my grandaughters b-day, but they had a 90cc on the same frame with a full auto trans for $50. more. I ordered it. Arrived in six days in good shape. I had already read the many topics on this forum & was prepared to do the following. Bought liquid electric tape for all elect connections, bought locktite for the nut connections, got 20w-50w oil for oil change, ordered & received a cd from e-bay on meerkat 50. ( I had already checked out Raceway ATV ) Problems i found were few but I will list them. The clip from gas cut off was not on the fitting, just on the line, the battery would not fit without removing the seat, the little jewel would not start, & the body didn't have flame decals as the ad stated. The reason it would not start wasn't the fault of the machine, it was me listening to someone who said only put about a quart of gas in it--not enough, after getting it started by using starter fluid, I put the gas cut off on reserve & the little jewel fired right up. Filled it up & we were off & runing. I ran it for 10minutes times 3 to get it all hot & then changed the oil. Slight problem, I could not find the oil drain plug-different than the 50cc. I ended up using my siphon pump that I use for the lawn tractor. Raceways ad said it was a 4-speed auto. It isn't as John has already said in anouther forum. Grand daughter is 5 years old, 45 lbs, & has been riding a Minimoto 36 volt ATV so all I had to do was show her the new controls & let her go. We live in Fla, so there are no "hills" for her to strugle on but our driveway & swale are some what steep & she had no problems stopping & starting on them. I have the throttle open to about (7) mph & she had no problem as I said stopping & starting on our "hills". I am satisfied with what I got, & I will be calling raceway about my flame decals. I thank all of you that I have read about & you all helped me make my decision.

Homeloan,
The meerkat is a very tough little machine but depending on how big your kids are it may be too small. The meerkat is the smallest mini you can get. Most 4-6yo will fit fine but any bigger kids it will be too small. There really is not much to go wrong with the meerkat and thats why it is so tough. No front suspension, stiff rear suspension, motor and minimal electrical. It is a great quad for beginners and smaller kids.

well, I have a 6 yr old boy whos' 3'11" and not getting smaller! but I also have a 4yr old girl who really wants a quad like daddies!! (03 predator, 01 scrambler). On top of that I have a 1yr boy and a new baby coming in april.. (4 is my limit!) So, I'm hoping that a 50 and a 90 would be good to train my son and daughter on and in a couple years they can be handed down to the younger children while I buy the oldest a larger quad.. I'm fine w/fixing things I've done a few motor swaps in the small japanese cars so I figure I should be able to handle a little quad right (LOL)...
I do have a trail on our property plus a lot of wide open field. I'm not sure how long it will take for the kids to get the guts up to go on the trail as there are a few hills and twists.. What a choice!
