Talk me out of a Dingo
#1
I'm down to the wire. Credit card in hand and wife approved. I'm trying to decide between the Jetmoto 150 and the Dingo (KMZ-150). I've read quite a few posts about folks who are disatisfied in some way with the Dingo. Is the Dingo really cheaply made (compared to other China quads), underpowered and unfun worthy? I would really like one but the JM-150 is looking pretty sweet too.
I know I've been beetin this to death, but I could really use opinions good and bad.
Man it hard to pick something like this without being able to see the things in person.
Thanks much

you know i've owened my 2 dingo for 2 years now without any problems, i feel they are probably the best made chainese atv's made ,bar none. i haven't seen any reveiws saying anything bad about them. they are heavier ,taller and bigger than the jetmoto, not going to handle as well , but are 100% reliable. they have a tow hitch and a towing capacity of 400 lbs. not cheaply made, if you buy from raceway you know you have 15 days to decide if you want to keep it or send it back and trade for the jetmoto or vica- versa, they will even pay for the shipping both ways.

i think you'll be happy with it, make sure to change engine oil, tranmission gear oil, reverse gear box oil, i also would rtv all electrial connections making sure the back side of the connectors are sealed

same atv, i don't think kazuma changed anything on the dingo since 04, on the 03 dingo they had only 1 rack and used only 3 lug nuts, engine oil use 15-40, transmission and reverse gear oil use 75-90 or 80-90 oil.

Congratulations M104! I was looking at the Dingo 150 last nite, for the first time. And was going to reccomend you get it, but got too busy at work to post. I think you will be more than happy with it. It looks like a very well thought out 150cc utility quad to me. It should be much better for you than the Jetmoto 150 since you want to use it for utility purposes. Im looking forward to your review.

I saw your cooler rack mod in the gallery. I'm gonna do something similar to my daughters Falcon. You see, out here in the country its mandatory to have a large, well stocked junk pile. So I go out there and way in the back is the remnants of an old 3 wheeler (not much left to it). But there glistening in the sun, wasps and hornets buzzing all around it was a rack stuck on the back of it. Turns out its the same width as the Falcon. I thought about welding it on, but I thing I want to make it bolt on so it can be removed. Daughter can't wait.
Sigh...here we go, another hobby

I see in the book about changing the engine oil (which I did) and the differential oil (with the site glass) but nothing about the reverse gear oil. Where is it and how much should go in it ? Or is it ok to leave it alone? Any help would be appreciated. So far so good on our two dingo's.
thanks

you need to change the gear oil, on the bottom of the reverse gear box their's a drain plug, to fill use the vent fitting on top of gear box, fill until sight glass is full, use same gear oil as transmission oil 80-90. taks about 5-8 minutes to do this job
