Default how is the REDCAT VX 200?

Im looking into buying this ATV, REDCAT VX 200, im 15 and weigh 150 lbs. (so i guess its good, i dont have enough to afford a name brand, so i came across this this) but does anyone have any information on it? heres some of my questions
1. does it run good and strong?
2. is it durable?
3. does the engine have alot of power and how is the transmission?
4. Is it cheap, or does everything on it work pretty good?
5. How much matinence would it require? (would i need to be constantly replacing parts?)

I heard that the only problem with it is after a few hours of run time you will have to tweak the carb.

I plan on riding around on some trails i have were i live. i currently own a 03 Kx 125. i love it and i wanna get into ATVs also. thanks.

Default how is the REDCAT VX 200?

Blastsome, I have owned a Redcat VX200 for about a year now. I like it but its too small in my opinion for an adult. I am 5'-10" 195 Lbs and while it has enough power to mess around on, the frame size is small and I am cramped on it. Also it can't handle my weight and bottoms out over a small jumps. In my opinion the vx 200 is a great atv for a 12 to 13 year old. I am actually going to store mine for my son for when he gets older. I just purchased a Redcat DPX 200 which has a larger frame size but is more of a utility atv. The physical size of it is a lot more comfortable to ride. As far as mechanics, it's all about initial set up on these atv's. If you have a local dealer great - if not, you are basicly the dealer and need to have a strong mechanical aptitude - you may have these skills and if so great. Depending on your size and how long you plan to keep it depends on weather or not you should invest in one. If you are not sure weather a quad is a sport you want to get into it may be a good alternative than dropping a lot of money on a new name brand atv. If your riding style is hard, you may want to spend a little more money than what it would cost for a Redcat and buy a used Honda. I buy the Redcats because they are inexpensive and I don't do a lot of riding so they sit most of the time. I don't mind tinkering and modifing equipment to meet my needs but I am a lot older than you and don't ride as hard as I'd like to anymore - someones got to make the mortgage payment. My suggestion is to go look at the Vx200 and try one out if you can. They are a decent machine for the money but you will have to be able to do the repairs yourself in most cases and aftermarket (performance) parts are pretty much non existent. Best of luck.
