outofline,

Once again great videos. Was the ATV training course one that you had to sign up for? Or was it one where a bunch of families got together to teach the kids ATV safety for the day? Did the kids enjoy the ATV Training?

Sorry for all the questions.

Have a good one.

SB.

Nope, the state of Utah requires all riders under 15 to be licensed atvers and to get that you need to sign up for a course, read a pretty in depth manual, take a written True/false/Multiple Choice test then complete the riding test that you see them taking! I was able to help them on the written and my boys took it together with me reading the questions and them answering. They got 100% on the written and did OK on the riding, knocked over a couple cones and a couple other miner things!
Now we can ride with out the fear of being ticketed!
I think they kind of enjoyed the riding part! The 16 year old was getting a bit board I saw him spin around the corners a bit to make it a little funner!

outofline,

It's great to see/read when a parent(s) takes the right steps and follows their local rules and regs when it comes to their children and offroading. I hear ya when it comes to possibly getting tickets. This is why I will never own a Chinese quad that is not CARB certified for California and will always make sure all my bikes, quads, and ATC's are equipped with USFS certified spark arrestors.

I just looked up the info for California and it looks like we need to take a class also. I never really checked before because I assumed that if she could ride a dirt bike proficiently that she was Okay. Guess we will be signing up for a class too. The thing is though my daughter rides a 250 when she should be riding a 90cc. I need to find someone that has a 90 so she can take the course. Anyways I will cross that bridge when we come to it.

At least your 16 year old finished the course and received his certificate. My 15 year old son would have given the instructor a head ache doing wheelies and everything else. They probably would only certify him for a 50cc if that They would have kicked him out after the first 15 mins. of class. He could never ride casual enough for the class. I guess this is why he chooses not to ride the quads that often. Not only that he gets into BIG! trouble when he breaks them. See, your videos and info is definitely helping others. Made me look into what is required for my children.

Looking forward to the information on how the quad performs after you do the jetting.

Thanks again.

SB.

John at raceway sent my jets free. Thank you Raceway, service after the sale. I have installed the jets but am still waiting on front shock, so i don't know if they help. Does anyone know of any other performance mods for these jetmotos. I put spacers on the rear wheels and a twist throttle on so far.

The info we read before the class stated anyone under 16 had to take the class but one of the questions on the test stated anyone under 15. We took the written before the riding so my 16 (actually 15 til next month) year old was almost to walk! But he played the game and finished the class. Now he has a ATV license and a Learner Drivers license for the street!
I was worried that the 150's were too big for my 8 year old to take the test on, then several kids showed up on a 750cc Utility and other almost as big atv's and these were not big kids under 12 years old! I was amazed that their parent let them ride such big beasts. If a 150 or 250 jet rolled over on my kids they may stand a chance but if a 750cc rolled over on them kids I highly doubt they would survive!. So I think your daughter on a 250 would be fine!

John has told me the Jets are on thier way but still have not received them!

Well I got the 14 tooth sprocket installed. It made all the difference, now it acts like a 4 stroke thumper should. Plenty of torque, and for the type of riding my son and I do it's perfect.
