Thats a pretty large sprocket, Im sure it helps with low end power. Any idea what your top speed is now?

 

Im in the process of putting my 250 Sport quad back together. I made these aluminum foot pegs for it. I wanted pegs that were lower (these are just over 2" lower than stock) and since I was making them I went wider. These really stretch the distance between the pegs and the seat. It was my way to stretch the quad a little. I also made a handle bar mount that moved the bars forward about 2" and up 1". These 2 things made the quad feel a lot bigger than it is.

 

I think it still runs in the forties on the the topend, first and second gears are
pretty short but third and fourth are very rideable now. Fourth never had any power before. A 48 tooth rear would probly be better, i have a 15 and 17 teeth front sprockets i am going to try still with the 50 rear.

 

that is great work mywifesquad...I use a NC mill not a CNC one at work I wish I had one at home...

Its pretty cool to have. Bought it to have for hobby stuff and now make a living with it. When Im not making money its nice to just make parts Ive always wanted.

 

Yeah, I haven't been around in a while too.

I got the quad fixed after the rear axle carrier replacement came in. I have to get a new battery and go back to the 110 main jet. My dad gave his quad to some kid at the church, and thats really the only reason I wanted one. Ya know, something to do.

Sucks because it's got under 30 hours on it and I'm going to sell it to pay to fix my car. Around here (Myrtle Beach, SC) china quads are few and far between, and I would have to put a battery in it and swap the stock wheels back on just to make it presentable. Maybe I'll get $700 for it, but resale value is non-existent.

Sad to here smurf! Did you and your Dad get to much riding together? I only rode one day with my Dad and it was fun he is just a bit slow! I'm looking forward to getting out again this summer, just hoping the Jets hold up for at least one more good year of riding! Resale wise you got to figure had it been a Honda you still would have taken roughly a thousand dollars hit as well it just you would have paid $4000 to begin with!

 

This was all discussed extensively before. Most china quads count reverse as a gear. so 4+1 =5 basically. Typically, it's a way to fool consumers.

Hey, I'm not bitching about resale. I understood that from the beginning, but I was hoping I would ride more, and that I would keep it. Now I've got the car on blocks replacing a turbo and exhaust system because I made a little contact with something that doesn't move when a 1 ton car hits it. haha
