well my switch actually slides left or right and you cant push it in. you can only ensure it is in the middle, which is the start position. as for the battery i havent changed it but i have the charger hooked to it while trying to start. but no luck.

That button should push in... Also BiggDaddyTx's 250 cranked and didn't start even with the battery being on a charge... We replaced it and now it starts fine... How long did it run at 1st???

Well i prep it the day before we went riding and it fired right up. Then i took it to the track, started it up and he rode for aprox. 15 minutes and then my son walked back over to the trailer and said it quit. so there is where i stand with it. I changed the cdi box no luck and im working on a new carb. It has good compression and spark. I dont know im just guessing now and changing parts.

Make sure the vent tube on the gas cap is not twisted. When my son and were out riding on his jm 125 it just shut down ,wouldnt start.Turns out the vent tube was cutting off air to the tank.Untwisted it and startwd right up.

If you have compression then its not the rings. If it is getting fuel then it sounds like its a spark problem. How did you check for spark? Did you look at all the connections under the plastics to make sure nothing is shorting out or disconnected?

The cranking and backfire makes me think that you have a cracked insulator on that spark plug. Try changing the plug.

Well along with a new carb we tried a new cdi box and nothing. It still just cranks and cranks then to lead to a backfire. It acts like a timing problem. cause it will crank for a bit till it floods then it will backfire. Well does anyone have any ideas before i bring this thing into the local shop. If so let me know.
