Questions about baja 250. i no u guys can help
The following is a message a member posted in "utility" section. I think this would be a better place for him to get a faster response.
"Hey guys just bought my new baja 250 I had to fool with the tie rods to get the thing to drive straight, I managed this but then was wondering if thiers a toe in or out measurement? I`ve look in the manual nothing there about it, so maybe someone here can help me with these specs if any? So question is, is thier a toe? If so is it in or out? if so whats the the toe adjustment measurement?
Also my manual says to use (SAE 80 API "G-4 Hypoid gear oil) I can't find this oil anywhere in town, not even in the same canadian tire store where I purchased the quad. I was wondering if thiers a substitute gear oil i can use as a equivalent which won't harm the quad?"
This was my response to him:
"I've never strayed from 10w40 oil on most 4 strokes i've owned. But i know, kind of makes you weary when the manual states otherwise. Hang out here long enough and you won't have many questions unanswered. Try asking the same question in the "Raceway" section at the top of the forums page. There's some really knowledgable die hard atv'ers there who also seem to enjoy helping out other members in anyway they can.Mywifesquad and 2manytoys are just a couple names that come to mind as being great guys who will try to help if at all possible. and there are more. in fact if you don't mind, i'll paste these messages for you to get a jump start.woody"
I posted it here for the poor guy because it seem as though he needs the oil question answered before he can begin riding.

I'm guessing that the gear oil is actually meant to be put in the gearbox (and reverse gearbox), rather than the engine. 10w-40 is good for the engine oil and then use some 80w-90 gear oil for the gearbox. For my gy6 150 quad, I use 4-stroke 0w-40 synthetic amsoil that says it's good for wet-clutch. Then, in the gearbox and reverse box, I use the 80w-90 gear oil.
I'm in Canada too and I found the gear oil at walmart (castrol brand) for a good price...
