Default Jetmoto 150 questions

Hey, I just received a 2007 150 Jetmoto from Raceway and so far it is outstanding! More power than I ever would have thought. Several questions: How come the lights have to be on in order to get it to crank? The chain seems very tight, is it adjusted using the two 10 mm bolts on the axle?

I will spend time going over this machine to put some finishing touches on it such as wire tyes, locktite etc. But so far so good.

Thanks, John

Default Jetmoto 150 questions

Hi super, welcome to the Jetmoto club!
I have two 07 150's and neither has to have the head light on to start it. The Brake levers have to be pulled in before the starter will engage! The two instrument lights on the handle bars do not indicate anything except that your Key is turned on! The trans has not indicator switching to work these lights. If your head light needs to be on it sounds like a wiring problem. Are you sure you hook it up correctly?
The chain is adjustable but will stretch after a few rides so no need for any adjustments yet. I just had to tighten my blue 150's chain and found it is necessary to remove the sprocket/brake disc guard to get to the nuts on the axle, then with a hammer tap on the tab "down to tighten or up to losen"on the rear of the hub.

Default Jetmoto 150 questions

Outofline, I have been waiting for this jetmoto for well over a month since they were backordered. I own a 2003 Polaris 500 sportsman HO and this one is for my nine year old son. I have been following your posts since you purchased your jetmoto's to get insights that you provided via your posts. So far the machine has been real good, just some small stuff such as the battery had a hole in the bottom of it when it arrived due to a bolt in the bottom of the battery box. It turns out that the bolt sticks up far enough that during shipping the battery was punctured. I simply placed a piece of rubber on the bottom to fix that issue. Other than that assembly was generally ok, the front calipers needed to be spaced out from the mounting knuckle by using a washer, I found that if I did not use a washer to space them when I tightened the bolt the pads would bind so tight I could not spind the rotor. Oh well that is now fixed.

I appreciate your advice on the chain, I will leave it alone for at least a week and see what happens. In the meantime I am going to take another look at the wiring to see why the machine will not crank without the lights on! Once it is running you can turn the lights off and it is fine, so it is real strange. Other than that I am going to spend time just generally "fool proofing" the machine via wire ties, tightening bolts, locktite, etc. Hey are there any carburetor mods you can do or is there a need for re-sprocketing as I saw you mentioned that several times in your threads?

Thanks again for your advice and input.

John

The re-sprocketing was only for the 250! The 150 is geared perfect IMHO. John told me there are no better Jets for the Carb and I am pretty pleased with the performance with the 150, it hauls me around with no problem and is even quite fun to ride for a 150cc as you can see from the videos. I did raise the throttle needle one notch to get rid of a cut out they had a a 1/4 throttle!
