Help - I just replaced the gas tank on my kids Meerkat (I cranked down to hard on the cap and cracked the seal) . Its less then 1 yr old (purchased from raceway last Xmas). After putting everything back together, i get NOTHING when trying to start it. I tested the battery and even switched it. Still nothing. With the key turned, the headlight wont come on either. I cant recall if the meerkat had to be started for the headlight to come on anyway. I believe I checked every possible wire harness and did not see anything loose.

Prior to this, the unit started everytime and ran great.

The light does not come on until the quad is running.... Have you checked the saftey switches? There is one in the back and one on the side....

 

Yes - Checked both of those.

 

Check the starter solienoid, use a screw driver and touch the two big leads together, engine should crank. Next touch the small lead and the big lead from the battery together, if the engine does not crank make sure there is power to the big wire to the solienoid, if there is power the solienoid is most likely bad.
