Thorn in Tires
#1
This weekend i was riding my Jetmoto 250 sport and i noticed yesterday that i got this huge thorn in my front tire and was wondering what i could but in it so it doesn't get flat i haven't taken the torn out yet till i figure out what to do. But if anyone has any suggestions i would appreciate it. A while back i read something about slime does this work or what would be the suggestions. thanks

Get some slime it works great at sealing leaks. I have it in 2 tires that wouldnt hold air at all due to being so old that they had cracks around the beads(couldnt break them down to replace the tires and I didnt want to pay 70 a piece for new rims so I tried the slime). I havent had to air them up again after 18 months.

Just get a tire repair kit. It should consist of a awl or reamer, plugs and a plug threader. I like the old fashioned waxed cord plugs. The black rubber ones don't seem to hold up as well.

Either of the two suggestions will work. Using the slime will also help with any thorns you may pick up in the future as well. The downside to it is it can also make your tires unbalanced. Not really noticeable on a trail or at lower speeds. But if you get out on a flat surface and open it up, you may notice the tires wobble at higher speeds.
I have slime in the tires and a plug kit too. The slime will work with small punctures, but the plugs work better for cuts and larger punctures.
