04 yamoto 150cc no spark when cold
#1
Ok, here's a good one. Just picked up a used 04 yamoto 150cc. When it's cold out, under 60, I get no spark at the plug. I push the quad into the garage and fire up the heater. Get the garage to about 70 degrees and like magic, I have spark and can ride for hours. This has been the case for the 2 weeks I've owned the quad. Before I spend the money on electrical components, does anyone have a guess as to what would cause this?
Thanks all...
Dave

When you have no spark have you tired wiggling the electrical connections??
Next time its "cold" and won't start doing some checks to narrow it down before you start replacing things.

Thanks for the reply. To answer your question, Yes. I wiggled all the wires, and replaced the plug. My next step was to try to test the coil. I was hoping to get some idea as to how to test it as well. Thanks again for your reply...
