Default Keeping dirt out

Ok so what is the best way to keep dirt out of carb? I have a Kazuma 110 and I am constantly getting dirt in the carb. It seems that every time the kids goes through a mud puddle it is time to clean it again! The slide tube on the throttle cable sticks. I have replaced the rubber that connects the carb to the intake tube. I have put some foam plugs in the airbox intake because the air filter gets wet. That just starved it for air. I cant imagine having to put in a snorkel. Any ideas?

That is pretty strange....what kind of air filter/air box is used on a kazuma 110?

I am not sure what kind is used. The air box itself has two intake ports each about the size of a lighter. They are facing down. Which seems odd to me. The filter is two pieces one of just foam and the other is more of a screen. I was wondering if a sponge would work at the intake ports? Seems that the air should pass through ok and it would swell up when the water hits it. I will try that this weekend.

I would try the sponge idea. Is there muddy water in/on the filter when the dirt gets in the carb?

There is both water and mud on the filter when this happens. Like I said I will try the sponge idea and see if that works this weekend. The only other thing I will do is replace the throttle cable. Maybe the dirt get in there some how.

Maybe you do need to make a snorkel, or at least something to deflect the water away from the air box.
