The shifting on this maching is very difficult. My 9 year old who has a Raptor 80 can't even shift the thing into second and I have tough time becasue my foot is too big for the floor board. I shift it by hand and it feels very hard. Any insight as to what is wrong or what I can do to loosen it up a bit?

Got the Wombat running good last night, but the rowing through the gears still seems pretty rough for a kid. Any insight as to what is making the shifts so hard?

Welcome to the forum dsomonster!

A lot of the semi autos are hard to shift. No real fix that I know of but it does get easier the more it it shifted.

Thanks for the WELCOME!!! I've been lurking for awhile and soaking all the information in. I see that after rowing through the gears last night it did loosen up a bit. Maybe after a few trips to the desert, we should be OK. I'll keep y'all posted.

One thing I want to mention:

"THIS PLACE IS A FREAKIN' MONEY PIT!"

Sorry, I just had to get that off my chest. I just bought 3 Rappy's and Grizzly for the family and my 700SE just got a new suspension, new wheels and tires and power adders. The Rappy 50 got the Big 3 and new jets for the carb, the Rappy 80 got new wheels and tires, the Big 3 and new jets for the carb. The Grizzly is the only thing left stock. I need to calm down!!!

one thing you might want to try is adjusting the clutch pressure plate, their's a adjustment on the right side of the engine, it's the clutch adjustment and if it to tight this causes it hard to shift to not being able to shift, the foot shifter shaft not only is connected to the shift forks but also connects to the clutch by linkage,so when you shift it disconnects the clutch as the same time it changes gears. how to adjust, loosen the lock nut, turn the adjustment screw counter clockwise until resistance is felt, then back off 1/8-1/4 turn, hold adjusting screw and tighten lock nut, done.
