Kazuma Opinions?

I'm looking at getting a Mini Falcon 90 Deluxe for my 5 year old to replace her ATC70. I was hoping to get some feedback from some of you on the overall quality and durability of these ATV's.
Thanks.

I bought a 90 mini falcon for my son three years ago. It has held up pretty well and runs very good. This is the first year I have had to replace anything on it. On his last time out the rear shock blew out. I also replaced a headlight bulb, headlight mount and battery strap. I have been pretty satisfied with it, it runs like a top. If I was going to do it again I would have opted for the 110 instead of the 90, didn't take long to outgrow the 90.

Thanks for the reply. How old was your son when you got it for him? My daughter is 5 and a half and is about average in size for her age. I'd like to get a feel for how long she'll fit on it.

i regretfuly bought my son a kazuma 50 last year for his birthday. it is by far the biggest piece of **** i have ever spent my hard earned dollar on. lets run down the list of problems.
day 1: yep, the day i picked it up brand new...i was drivin down the road in the truck, had the rear sliding glass open..and the overwhelming smell of gas was filling the cab. i stopped about 3 miles from the dealer and looked the quad over, only to reallize the gas tank was BROKE!!! pouring gas everywhere. the gas cap threaded area was only held on by 1/4" of plastic. got it back to the dealer..and he put a new tank on it.
day 1: sons b-day party..open up the garage door to show him his new ride....GREAT!!!!.....only 1 problem..the pile of crap wont start. so, being a mechanic for the past 15 years..i figured..cant be too hard right? its brand new. after about 10 minutes of messing with the air screw (the only adjustment on the carb....go figure) it finaly ran...and he rode the heck out of it.
month 1: no problems
month 2: not really any problems to speak of...fall is rollin in on us and riding time was cut down alot
winter months: could not get the pile to start without the choke and ether.....rode 1 time in winter, started every other week just to keep things moving. had to do the ether trick every single time.
ahhh..this spring. a great time to go riding right? ....not right...he rode it 1 time...and now it wont start AT ALL. after about an hour of checking things out..i find there is zero valve lash on the intake and exhaust valves. greeeaaat. i readjust valves and it starts right up...but now the engine is smoking like a freight train.
at this point i am admitting defeat and kicking myself in the **** knowing darn good and well i shouldnt have wasted my money on this thing, and now my 5 yr old gets to watch his brother and 2 cousins ride every weekend...he can ride too...if i spend 30 minutes getting his kazuma to start. after that he only has to deal wih the smell of burning oil and the nice oily residue on his shirt from the exhaust.
in th past 5 rides, i have adjusted the valves 3 times. i know what it is..the valves are cupped, and the valve guide is broken..thats where the smoke is coming from. i told him...every time you get it out...run the crap out of it and blow it up. i'll go buy you a new kawasaki kfx50 and we'll set this chinese junk bike on fire and hae a party.
if you want headaches...and upset kids. by all means, buy the kazuma. if you want to buy something that your kids will enjoy for years...buy something name brand, and used. i just bought my oldest son a 2001 suzuki 80 for 375 bucks. the deals are out there...you just have to keep your eyes open for em.

I second that! I have one of those meerkat 50's sitting in my garage waiting to get thrown in the fire. I have a few other quad's and this by far is the one that I have had to work on the most! I bought it last June. Within the first month the intake broke. Raceway replaced it right away. And just for the record, Raceway was great and I would buy from them again. Just not a Kazuma. It ran for about another month and a half (maybe 12 times). After that, nothing has gone right. I've adjusted the valves 5 times, pulled the carb out 3 times and completely cleaned it, fixed all of the electrical splice connections, replaced the fuel filter twice and other odds and ends crap. It's sitting with no plastics on it, and the tank off and not running. I'm sick of breaking my 5 year olds heart so I gave him my other son's Raptor 50 and I am going to buy my older son something different.
