4th Gear Gone!
#1
I have the Jetmoto Hunter 250 and all of a sudden I can't find 4th gear. No problems in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, but cant get it into 4th. No experience with this kind of thing. It's like it's completely gone. Has anyone ever heard of anything like this?

No not yet. Just riding with 3 gears right now. I cant get any shops around here to look at it because they've never heard of a Jetmoto. There is one however, that said they might look at it if they had the service manual so John is now waiting for Eugene to send him some scans in .pdf file format.

I would think any small engine repair shop should be able to tackle this job. This atv I think was based off an older yamaha bear tracker design. I also have read some threads with issues regarding the shift forks or something.
If its like these Jianshee 250's check out their website as they have parts and service manuals for download. http://www.jiansheamerica.com/support/support.htm.
If you're mechanically inclined and the manual has the right pictures you may want to pull off the cover on the trans and take a peek. Maybe its something simple that doesn't require you to dig too far into it other than pulling the side cover off and replacing something.

Thanks Sawyer, the only thing is, I don't want to get in there and mess something up, or not be able to get it back together. I am mechanically inclined, but I have zero experience with this kind of thing and I would want some kind of service manual that tells me exactly what to do before I open it up. Right now I have a quad that gets me all over my property with no problem. I start dismantling it and I could end up with nothing real quick!
I don't know if Raceway works on these things at their location in New Jersey but it would be worth it to me to drive 4 hours to have it fixed properly. I wish I had a list of motorsports places that will work on Jetmotos.
