I did not mean to imply the quad is a POS, just that it is a chinese quad, and in general they are a POS. Really, the resale on them is quite low for obvious reasons. Plus it is a buyer's market and folks need cash, so if nothing else, bargain hard for the atv.

Local conditions surely have an impact on demand, supply, and price. Those of us in large metro areas are a bit spoiled by all the product available and the tools to connect buyers and sellers. Things like Craigslist are great for selling things locally. Maybe you will need to look further to a larger city that has craigslist or maybe autotrader. I think there are versions for rv, motorcycles, atvs?

Good luck, make sure to post how things turn out.

Yes, I have been living on the Craig's List, and I'm fairly connected with the Sport motorcycle community in my area. Just not many dealers, and a total lack in parts.

Hey, thanks for responding.

Spot on dude! That's the discount you earn for having one of these things. Lack of after purchase parts and service is a BIG deal and a BIG pia.

Well I did a 180. Didn't feel good at all about the Chinese bikes. Early this morning I saw a post for a '02 Polaris Trailblazer 250 for 1500.00. I scrounged up 1300.00 and bought it. Fresh top end and transmission gone thru, and set up for motor. Piped, jetted, ported, new battery. Plastic not beautiful, but no cracks. Got a brand new set of razor fronts and paddles on new chrome rims for 250.

Things runs very strong. Turns great. Suspension seems good for the use it obviouly has had. Man, this thing is loud. Gonna try repacking baffle tomorrow.

Kid is doing great on it. Sure she has room to grow on it too and she won't need a upgrade for a long time.

Thanks for you inputs folks.

Good deal!

PLEASE PLEASE take care putting an 8 year old girl on a 250. I did not say much when you were looking at a 150 auto for her but a 250 is a lot of machine for her. If there is a way to govern it or put a throttle lock or something to keep the power and speed down please do it. Ride safe and have fun.

Yes, I do understand. Totally and completely. She's a very large kid with some skills, and will always be supervized. We spend alot of time in the classroom, so to speak every time we ride. We also talk alot about the pain if bad choices are made.
Gotcha
