Default Brakes 110cc

I have been trying to get this taotao 110cc to crank for 6 months. Today I finally succeeded, but as soon as it starts it takes off and there are no brakes. The wire on the left handle bar is not connected to anything. Does anyone know where it is supposed to connct?

Well if its a brake line wire it will probably go to the front brakes. The rears are all hydraulic

Yes, the left handle bar lever is usually the front brakes. In most cases these are drum brakes attached with to 2 brake cables similar to this: Brake Cable

I would suggest adjusting the Carb, The bike shouldn't take off.
There is a adjustable screw located on the Carb that will help your bike idle, rather then take off. This screw usually has a spring in it.

With your bike running, (you may need to lift back tires off the ground) adjust the screw in very small adjustments to get the bike idling correctly.

Thanks for the help! I have ordered a new carb. The one on it was not the correct one and the throttle cable wasn't engaging the slide. The wire is two white wires coming from brake master cylinder on the left handlebar. I traced the hydraulic lines from the left handlebar and they go to the rear brakes.

I c. Depending on the bike you have, some hand levers are hydraulic, most of the new bikes we deal with have a foot brake hydraulic rear brake.

You most likely need a part like this: Hand Brake Lever and Caliper Assembly - PBC384YT
Or
Hand Brake Lever and Caliper Assembly - PBC380YT

It looks like this one, except the black and green/yellow wires are both white.
Im not sure what they power. If they need to be plugged up or not.

The cables are either for the rear brake light, or to start your bike is some cases.
This one is compatible. Brake Lever With Brake Oil Reservoir - Left Hand, With Brake Lock (Parking Brake) - PBC2778YT
