Default Coolster 150cc sport

Hey guys maybe you can point me in the right direction. I purchased a Coolster 150cc to ride my kids around. I chabged the oil after the break in period ect. The nect day whike ripping with my son i had to make a U-turn, i go from drive to reverse no issue , at that point i could only get the side shifter to go back up to nuetral it refused to go into (drive) thr forward position almost like it was being blocked. I decided to turn the machine off at which time (with 0 effort) put it directly in forward and off we went ......any thoughts on whats going on? Why would it work fine stoping the engine and switching gears and why not while its running esspectialy if nuetral abd reverse gave me no issue

The throttle was preset from the dealer, with no adjustments so i don’t think a that could be the case especially it nuetral and reverse have no issues when I come to a complete stop apply the back brake and change gears.

Their is always a idle adjustment their should be a adjustment on carb as well as the cable for cable slack. Adjustment needs to be their as sometimes they need to be adjusted due to elevation, temp, etc. As far as shifting into reverse easily that section of the trans may not be effected the same as forward with tension on trans due to idle. The forward gear may be still a little tight until it gets more wear on it. On my machine it took about 1000km before the shifter was not as fussy

What you’re saying makes sense now I think this post may be accurate. I guess now it’s just locating exactly what you’re talking about and trying to figure out how to make those adjustments but I appreciate the help and the input greatly appreciated my friend

no problem.. 90% of the time if a auto tranny fails you will not get it in gear with it off.. Hopefully you can get it sorted..

this is idle was the issue, that you very much. However I just jumped on To put it through its paces and realize the back brake is not working at all. Zero pressure any thoughts I did notice a ball of red grease on the desk had it self I don’t know if it blew a seal somewhere but it worked fine last time we rode it any thoughts

try dome brake clean if the pads and disk got covered in grease they are not going to work. May have to replace the pads.
