Unhappy Moto 200CC Model MDL 200 AUG Transmission

Hi All,

My first post. I purchased the ATV new about one year ago. Ever since new, the automatic transmission randomly (maybe 1 time out of 10) grinds going into forward or reverse (sometimes for a couple seconds, sometimes just for a fraction of a second), but not all the time. Also, it has popped out of forward 5 times over the year, usually right in the first minute of the engine running and the first 20 feet of motion. It has been back to the dealer 6 times. They did several adjusts, and ground the plate that constrains the shift lever to give it more travel. They said a tiny bit of occasional grind is normal for that design, but not extended grind, and obviously not popping out of gear. They are a reputable dealer and the say mine is the only one they have ever had that was not fixed with simple adjustment of the shifter plate. I believe the problem to be mostly, if not completely, in the first couple minutes of operation. I asked if they changed the transmission oil when I had the first full service done, they said no, not part of normal service. I am wondering if anyone else has seen this, and if so, know what the problem or fix might be. I'd be willing to pay the shop for work if I just had a clue. They said they are clueless. Other than this issue, I love the machine. I live 1-1/2 hours each way from the dealer, so it is a pain to keep taking it in.

Thanks Much and Happy Riding,
Leigh
