Hi all. New to the group. My son has a 2018 Coolster 3125. We upgraded the headlights to LED. I know they only runs off the stator but that just doesnt put out enough juice so theyre not as bright as direct to battery. Does anyone know how to rewire it so the headlights run off the battery when the key is on as opposed to the stator? Thanks in advance.

 

Don't know the Coolster but most small ATVs have a four wire ignition switch, one battery power in, another battery power out. If it uses standard Honda colours, these won't be either the back/white or green, power in is obvious as it is always live (often red) so the other wire is the one you want. check that it is live with ignition on, dead with it off, then tap into it, fit a light switch between it and LED. Negative wire for LEDs is earthed to frame or battery.

LEDs are polarity sensitive so your existing set up would be switching them on and off in time with the engine revs.
